About Us

Synergy, privately owned, has been established for more than twelve years and has grown steadily by drilling our specialities, Geothermal and Water boreholes.

We are based centrally, just south of Oxford, but cover the whole of the UK.

Our team comprises of around 20 people, (see most below, trained and safety qualified.)

Synergy's annual turnover is well into seven figures.

Our machine park is specifically suited to the work we do, efficiently and cleanly.

Although Synergy will always deliver the specified boreholes. We can also deliver total turnkey projects with our highly reputable partners.

Synergy continues to expand.

Who we are

A wholly family owned business. Our team, see below, and equipment, continue to grow, making Synergy one of the largest expert companies in this field. We have trusted partnerships with high quality suppliers, expert independent consultants, renewable companies, all with well established reputations. Ask some of our consulting partners, BBH, BAHS. etc. (see below)

What we do

Synergy is a borehole drilling company specialising exclusively in two areas, Geothermal and Water installations to beyond 200m. Both of these techniques require skill, experience and equipment specifically designed for Geothermal and Water boreholes. Synergy is growing, continually fuelled by our constant delivery to specification. As seen here we drill for universities, schools, private estates, etc.

Antony Jennings

Owner & Managing Director

Antony, born in Berlin. Grew up later in the UK and studied automobile engineering. Started for a Ferrari dealer. Went into business owning a specialist plant nursery with his future wife, Kinvara. The hosepipe ban came. He saw the opportunity to drill private boreholes for house/garden water supply. Started with a small tripod percussion rig. This start and his reputation, grew organically to where Synergy is today... And tomorrow.

EXTERNAL : INDEPENDENT MANAGING DIRECTOR BAHS (B. A. HYDRO SOLUTIONS LTD)

B. A. Hydro Solutions Ltd. (BAHS) is an independent hydrogeological and thermogeological consultancy offering design, laboratory, specialist site investigation and site management services to Main Contractors, Developers, Commercial and Residential Clients. BAHS own and operate all their own equipment from down hole and surface CCTV & geophysical survey equipment, to Thermal Response Test (TRT) rigs, pumps, drones, underwater ROVs, GPS, field testing, etc.

BAHS support GSH&C manufacturers, installers, drillers and contractors enabling them to deliver industry-leading installations. BAHS are routinely involved with open and closed loop ground source heating projects ranging from 5kW to schemes in excess of 3.5MW.

If you are developing a closed loop GSH/C system, normally the first stage is to arrange a Thermogeological Assessment (TGA) from BAHS. This characterises the ground conditions beneath the site, the thermal properties of each layer and bulk values for different drilling depths. The TGA identifies drilling issues/hazards and considers the presence and movement of groundwater. BAHS also offer a service to take the TGA outputs along with the heat/cooling loads for the project, to find the optimum borehole or horizontal pipe length and layout needed to sustain the planned scheme through a modelling process.

A Hydrogeological Assessment (HGA) from BAHS provides you with essential information whether for a potable water supply or an open loop GSH/C system. Each HGA is bespoke, so each report acquires and collates geological, hydrogeological and hydrological information specific to your site. Every HGA report is peer-reviewed to ensure consistency of approach, data reliability and robustness of borehole design and predicted sustainable yield. Whether for a domestic water user or an international drinks company, BAHS' reports are invaluable and highly respected within the drilling industry.

Our Machines

Our machine park of over £3m includes specifically designed machinery for geothermal drilling, rotary hydraulic drills with pumps, plus mud cleaning and loop insertion reels.

Our several MC900GT rigs are unique in the UK, designed to drill geothermal boreholes down to 128m simultaneously with a temporary protective steel casing, which is especially suited for problematic geological layers in the Thames Valley.

American Mud Puppy units process the mud flush water to separate out solid drilling waste to minimise site disruption and untidiness.

We are specialised in clean drilling methods.
